Malta- great news :)

Here are some news from the CABS in Malta.I am very grateful that this group exists and that these  beautiful people doing such a great job over there :)…And of course a big thank you to the Police in Malta, the government and the clean hunters :)….However Malta still continues to cause problems by illegal bird poaching and bird hunting.

Committee Against Bird Slaughter (CABS)

Malta: Hunting ban works – birds are safe. In the week after the government announced the closing of the hunting season thousands of migratory birds have roosted on the island – and survived! CABS are still monitoring the countryside and the poachers – who cannot “hide” between law abiding hunters anymore – decided to stay at home. In the last days the teams observed several hundreds of Honey Buzzards, Marsh Harriers and Kestrels as well as Ospreys, Short-toed eagles, Lesser Spotted Eagles, Black Kites, European Bittern and loads of different heron species leaving the island unscathed. Stop buying Pet Parrots and Parakeets

The illegal.bird trade is still high and about 90% of birds die before they reach their pet owner who is not aware or doesn’t care where their parrot or parakeet is coming from.

Please help to stop illegal bird trade by supporting:

http://www.parrots.org/flyfree/

If you cannot afford financially to help them then the least that you can do is

not buying any parrot or parakeet and by not supporting any kind of encouragement for others to want a bird via video clips etc…

MALTA CLOSES HUNTING SEASON: The maltese government has closed the autumn hunting season with immediate effect after ‘criminal persons’ had ‘in a continuous manner’ over the past few days shot at protected birds. Hunting may start again on 11. october – what a great success!

Stop buying Parrots for pets

IMG_10143217434808

You kill hundreds of parrots and damage nature’s biodiversity by buying one parrot…Illegal parrot trade still exists and it is stronger than ever due people wanting It’s egoic parrot as a pet.Breeders have also demand for these birds don’t forget.

Parrots are fliers and can travel kilometers per day. They are not climbers as being claimed by b redder and pet shops who want to make money by selling them and their tiny cages.

By buying a parrot you deprive them of their freedom, the right light, temperature and humidity condition and the right to chose their own partner.

How would you like it if doneobe jusy put you together with a husband or wife that youbdon’t know and might even has the wrong genes to produce healthy kids with you?

Its egoic and unconscious (=mentally asleep) to do such a thing to another living being. So do not buy a parrot for yourself, your kid/s a other family member  or a friend. They are endangered now and the effects of having not enough of them around in nature any longer will be felt soon as they have a purpose in nature and therfore belong in nature and not in a tiny cage….
